Solid lines are P2P rates. The dashed line is the spot reference: the OKX USDT/USD index multiplied by the day's USD exchange rate. When P2P sits above the dashed line, buying USDT on P2P costs more than spot.

OKX's own disclosure restricts its P2P in the UK

OKX's Risk & Compliance Disclosure (last updated 8 July 2026) lists places where particular services are restricted. One entry reads “the United Kingdom (specifically regarding our derivatives-related, cefi-related, and P2P services)”. Any GBP prices in the OKX column are taken from ads posted on OKX's public P2P market. They do not mean OKX offers P2P trading to UK residents.

The UK does not appear on Binance's List of Prohibited Countries (version updated 5 January 2026). That list is Binance's own policy, not FCA authorisation.

The premium column sets the sterling buy rate against a spot line in pounds (how spot is built), so you can see whether P2P ads are running above or below the wider market.

FCA rules on crypto: promotions since 2023, a new regime expected in 2027

Since 8 October 2023, firms marketing cryptoassets to UK consumers, including firms based overseas, have had to comply with the UK financial promotions regime. The FCA describes four routes for communicating a cryptoasset promotion lawfully:

  1. the firm communicating it is authorised by the FCA;
  2. an authorised person has approved it;
  3. it is communicated by a cryptoasset business registered with the FCA under the money laundering regulations;
  4. it meets an exemption in the Financial Promotion Order.

A promotion outside those routes breaches section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, which the FCA describes as “a criminal offence punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment, an unlimited fine, or both.” The regime also requires risk warnings and “positive frictions”, such as a 24-hour cooling-off period.

A wider set of rules is on the way. On its page about the new regime, last updated 30 September 2026, the FCA says it “is expected to come into force on 25 October 2027”. Firms can already apply for authorisation under it.
